Palsunda Cost Effective Home
In this HUDCO award winning project, we worked with a loan provider to build a low cost structure for a tribal family. They rebuilt their home at just Rs 450 per sqft.
Forest Food processing centre
The forest food processing center in the village of Doyapada, is one of the most participatory and most cost efficient structures Design Jatra has executed. The project is made completely using materials found in a radius of 3 km from site.
Hatheri: Awas Yojana House
Design Jatra worked with the Government and UNDP to design and implement Low Cost, Climatically and Ecologically sensible homes under the AWAS Yojana
A Module for Visually Impaired
We worked with Selco foundation in providing thermally comfortable, climate and disaster resilient homes for a few underprivileged and physically disabled families. With less to no maintenance, it's a suitable option for these families
Sanitation Projects at Palghar
As a part of Swach Bharath Mission, we worked with the NGO Learning Space in Vajreshwari to design a series of toilets appropriate for the schools of Palghar district.
Saibaba Temple
A shrine for Saibaba was built with an open design amidst nature in an otherwise cramped space
Murbad Temple
We worked with the villagers of Murbad village in renovating the Waghoba Tribal temple
Livelihood Generation through Tokar Bamboo weaving
Hand crafted bamboo sticks are woven into a "saata" or a mat by tribal of Dahanu. These are then sent to the female self help group for stitching the jute cloth and the elastic holders. We have tried to generate income for tribal families through traditional activities of bamboo weaving
Seed Bank
This space which is fully built by volunteers is a space to experiment and host various workshops of Design Jatra
